Axe That Tax is a proud Appalachian business built on southern roots, hard work, and a genuine desire to help people. My name is Avondre McCrary, and I started this practice with one simple belief: taxes shouldn’t feel like a battle you fight alone.

I grew up in the mountains of Tennessee, where community matters and lending a hand isn’t just good manners — it’s a way of life. That spirit shapes everything I do. Whether I’m helping a family sort out a confusing IRS notice or guiding a business through a tough tax problem, I give the same honest advice I’d want if I were in your shoes.

While I can represent clients in all 50 states thanks to my federal licensure with the IRS, I’m especially proud to serve the people and businesses across Appalachia. There’s nothing better than seeing someone I’ve helped at the local grocery store and knowing I made a difference.

I’ve always learned best through visuals — comics, games, stories — things that make complex challenges easier to understand. That influence carries over into how I explain taxes today: straightforward, clear, and never intimidating. The “axe” in Axe That Tax reflects that spirit — cutting through confusion, facing the problem head-on, and helping you take back control.

My goal isn’t to be the biggest firm around. My goal is to be the most trusted. That means taking the time to listen, staying on the phone a little longer when needed, and treating every client like a neighbor — because to me, you are.
